ABOUT LAURA WEST

Laura West is a classically trained award winning bookbinder specialising in traditional and contemporary hand-sewn books.

Laura West's books grace many heritage properties and are contained within public and private libraries and royal collectionas.

All the books produced by the Bindery are bound individually by hand whether as single commissions or for a limited edition. Every book receives the same individual attention to detail. There is no compromise on quality.

Laura has a first class honours degree (BA) in bookbinding from Roehampton Institute (now Roehampton University) where she was taught by Jen Lindsay. She is also a Queen Elizabeth Scholar (2000) and Balvenie Artisan of the Year (2005).

In 2013 Laura was shortlisted for the international craft competition "The Modern Craft Project" sponsored by Ketel Vodka in association with Wallpaper* Magazine.
